Casual Conversation (while camera running!)

A video of Heike ‘Pushbikegirl’ and myself ‘CyclingCindy’.

A couple of months ago, in summer, I met Heike, a German world cyclist whom I know for some years. We got to know each other through social media when I was cycling in India and Heike was somewhere relatively near, perhaps in Oman. Years later we were able to meet.

When we met in the woods somewhere in Germany, we had not planned this conversation while Heike’s camera was recording. It is therefore not acted nor practiced. Simply two women talking about what we love(d) doing: cycling the earth.

Cycling the earth also is about washing the only pair of pants we own, about a simple lifestyle and about crappy food.

Here is a 25 minutes casual talk between the two of us.

Heike keeps a wonderful website while she is currently cycling through Morocco. We made another, shorter, video together, talking about food.

Years of traveling brought me many different insights, philosophies and countries I needed to be (over 90 in total). I lived in Pakistan, went over 15 times to India and when I stopped cycling the world, that was after 50.000 kilometer through 45 countries, I met Geo. Together we now try to be more self-sustainable, grow our own food and live off-grid. I now juggle with the logistics of being an old-fashioned housewife, cook and creative artist loving the outdoors. The pouches I create are for sale on www.cindyneedleart.com

Two favourite tourers! Awesome! So lovely to hear your voices. 😀 that bread sure looks great. I assume you were letting it rise. How did it turn out? Do you keep a bit of live yeast culture in a jar?

Happy travels to you both.

Ps I do wish Heike was on WordPress.

Hi there, sorry, I am always confused with your real name and Dingo : )

Thank you for the compliment! We found our little video awkward at first, and I didn’t even want to see it. A selfie is one thing, but a life shot of yourself is something else. Yuk!

We tried another sort of bread, since we didn’t have our usual gear with us to bake bread. I left my bread tin in Paraguay (stupid). I keep no live yeast, I use dried yeast and this always rises beautifully.

Heike is on WordPress! Though her site is .org and ours .com

Best regards Cindy

Yeah I could see how it would be especially as you say it is the first time you met person to person but as I said it allowed me to put a voice to the face. A nice thing.

Heike is one wordpress? I tried searching for her wordpress site but no luck. Would you have the link? All I have is her blogger site which is google owned (blogger) and I detest that company for reading people’s gmails and working really hard to spy on people.

But isn’t the whole internet one big spy? I am not so known with this, all I think I know is that Google and Facebook and allllllll the others can look into everything what is online. I don’t care, since I share my blog anyway. And what I write in an e-mail, how interesting is that for strangers : )))) Anyway, here is Heike’s link:
