Zittend op een bootje tussen de mangrove van Gambia bevind ik me tussen een geheel Nederlands gezelschap. Deze mensen zijn allemaal werkzaam in organisaties die de lokale bevolking helpen. Ook ik. Het is echt niet dat ik hier alleen voor mijn plezier ben; strandwandelingen, boottochten en lekker eten.
Fietsen is wat ik wil en wel voor een goed doel: Focus on Education. Ik ben hier om een project van Marijke en Jacques te bezoeken. Steun deze organisatie, al is het maar met 5 euro, alle beetjes helpen. Ga naar de website van Focus on Education
Sitting on a little boat tucked between the mangroves of The Gambia I find myself in a selected company of only Dutch people. All are working in the development sector to make this country a stronger one. Also me. It really isn’t that I am here for pleasure only; strolling on the beach, swimming in the river and good food. Lieve boban, is het erg koud daar? Ik hoor dat het sneeuwt en vriest. Dat nieuws hoor ik hier elke dag. Hier is het lekker warm en gauw ga ik weer verder. Nog een week en dan richting Guinee. Heb er enorm veel zin in, weer lekker fietsen. Zo zalig! Hebben jij en Henrico nog iets warms in het vooruitzicht? Veel liefs Cin X
