Cooking, who needs what & when?

Which pot to use and which stove to take along? The choice becomes more difficult when on shorter trips.

Dip: the point where I cycled into depression

Overflowing: cycling at my most content

Bread: fresh bread on any source of fire

Cooking in camp. I noticed something funny when I slipped off the path and into the forest. I could see myself with different eyes, as if by another person, thinking: 'what is she going to do? Is she so playful, skidding off the path, finding acorns?' I wonder if any hunter ever thinks: 'There, she goes find herself a place to cook and sleep'. First day on the Dinaric Alps trail. I know it's not the season and have experienced this at once. In trying to scramble to the top of Nanos, I returned wet, hungry, tired and thoughtful. Over some chai's and a new embroidery project I wonder what to do tomorrow. #dinaricalps The more I carry, the more I can eat. I don't know where my 'fear' for not having enough food to eat comes from? I was sometimes without it on the cycling tour through the Sahara and in the Himalayas. But there's always someone who will feed you when you're in need. Geo and I needed something different. We were not having enough challenge. Our own beautiful and very large piece of paradise in the woods of Hungary became too predictable. So we took off to Italy. After 4 months we are back and totally in love with our own home, our own kitchen and our own land. The only thing missing is a Ted or Tina, a Ko or Keesje, any rescue cat or dog would be fine. Do you have wishes where you want to camp when you're touring or hiking? I try to find good places, beautiful spots to end the day in style. I know it's rather ridiculous because I won't see much when I sleep and sometimes my chosen spots are more beautiful than comfortable.
